Enel, which has been in Argentina for 8 years, is one of the main companies in the power business in the country.

Formed by a group of companies, Enel Argentina participates in every stage of the energy process, from its generation, transportation and commercialization, to its final distribution.

The businesses that compose the group are Enel Generación Costanera (formerly Central Costanera), Enel Generación El Chocón (formerly Hidroeléctrica El Chocón) and Central Dock Sud in charge of  Generation; Enel Trading Argentina S.R.L. in Trading; Edesur S.A. in Distribución; and TESA, CTM and Yacylec in Transporte.

Ingeneration we have a total of 4.558 MW of installed capacity. By the end of 2016, this power represented more than 13% of the total capacity installed in the Argentine Interconnection System (SADI). The annual electricity generation of these companies reached, as of december 31, 2016; near of 13.124 GWh, almost 10% of the total generation of this country. 

Enel group, by means of its three business holds 25% share of the businesses in charge of the operation of two combined cycles of 860 MW each. One of them is located in Santa Fe province, the other in Buenos Aires province, initiatives coordinated by the investment fund to increase the power demand in the country.

Moreover, Enel has 26% share of the businesses which operate the combined cycles in San Martìn and Belgrano (800MW each), and 41% of the  Vuelta de Obligado combined cycle which is at the final stage of the cycle closure. 

Enel, by means of Edesur, distributes power to about 2.5 million users. In 2016, Edesur sold a total of 18.5 Twh power.
