Meet Central Dock Sud

“Once in the hands of Enel, the modernization project started: the installation of the state-of-the-art Combined Cycle.”

Enel purchases Central Dock Sud

In 1996 Enel Group purchased Central Dock Sud S.A. and started its project:installing a state-of-the-art Combined Cycle.

In 1997, modernization works concerning the facilities and the enlargement of the generation capacity started. The new Combined Cycle started to operate in 2001.

Investments

Investments for the Central Dock Sud project focussed on the start-up of the combined cycle, aimed to fulfill the electrical energy needs of the Argentine interconnected system dispatching any potential redundant capacity to neighbouring countries.

Once these investments were made, Central Dock Sud could count on state-of-the-art equipment in terms of operational efficiency and environmental care, minimizing the consumption of resources.

From 2002, investments concentrated on the maintenance of the electricity generation equipment, in order to keep its efficiency parameters within optimal values.
