International Earth Day

On April 22, 1970, citizens of the United States held the first protest march for the care of the Environment. Thousands of people participated, especially from universities and educational institutions concerned with the planet. Protesters were demanding that the US government create an Environmental Protection Agency. The pressure was so strong that the US government finally created the "Environmental Protection Agency" (EPA).

Recalling that first manifestation that achieved its objective, every day April 22 is celebrated worldwide "International Earth Day".

For the UN, "With this celebration we accept the collective responsibility to foster harmony with nature and to strike the right balance between the economic, social and environmental needs of present and future generations." We celebrate this day to remember that the planet and its ecosystems give us life and sustenance.

That is why, in Argentina, Enel, a company especially concerned with sustainability and environmental care, joins this commemoration through its distribution company Edesur in all commercial offices.

Each person attended in the 16 commercial offices will be given a biodegradable card containing flower seeds with an instruction to raise awareness about the importance of nature care.

That's why, today, April 22, Earth Day, let's celebrate planting.
