The Pedriatrics Hospital “Prof. Dr. Juan Pedro Garrahan” is the greatest model of public health and high complexity in Argentina. It is the most important pediatric institute of Latin America and one of the ten best institutes worldwide.
In the latest anniversary of Enel Generación Costanera, charity actions were carried out at the hospital foundation. Through this initiative, the company fostered one of the Casa Garrahan rooms. This facility can host children residing more than 100 kilometers away from the City of Buenos Aires under medical care at the Elizalde, Garrahan or Gutierrez Hospitals while they are getting outpatient treatment or are waiting for complex disease diagnoses that do not require hospitalization. The Foundation holds up this important Programme thanks to the support of endorsers and contributors.
The Garrahan institution is one of the most cherished and respected by the families in the country; that is why any charity action aiming to collaborate with it is always welcome among the employees of the Group in Argentina. The latest voluntary work performed at Casa Garrahan was carried out along with the General Service and Sustainability management. The activity was designed to improve the energy efficiency of the building, replacing fluorescent lights with LED lights. So EDESUR and Enel Generación Costanera volunteers removed the faulty material, changing and adapting the new lights. This work has been a significant contribution for Casa Garrahan as it has reduced its energy consumption and improved an area for health recovery.
